인사말

조형예술의 근간인 회화 교육을 통해 동시대 미술의 새로운 비전을 열고자 하는 예술대학 회화과의 46회 졸업전시회를 진심으로 축하합니다.

올해로 우리 동덕여자대학교는 법인 창학 106주년, 개교 66주년을 맞이하였습니다. 우리대학 구성원 모두는 한 세기 넘는 장구한 역사와 교육 전통을 바탕으로 미래의 여성 인재를 육성하는 교육을 지속적으로 실천해 왔습니다. 오늘의 동덕여자대학교는 동덕인의 탁월한 자질과 성품을 동시대 환경에 입각해 새롭게 발전시키는 교육 비전을 추진하고 있습니다. 우리는 앞으로도 이와 같은 비전을 부단히 실현함으로써 대학의 역량을 더욱 강화하고 시대를 이끌어갈 학문과 예술의 주체를 육성해 나갈 것입니다.

본교는 그간 연륜에 걸맞게 많은 역량 있는 작가와 건강한 사회인으로서의 문화인들을 배출해 왔습니다. 올해 46회를 맞는 예술대학 회화과의 졸업전시는 동덕의 역사에 다시 한 연륜을 더하는 것인 동시에 졸업생 여러분들이 사회를 향해 비상하는 의미 있는 자리입니다. 21세기를 문화의 시대라 할 때, 앞으로 예술의 영역은 크게 확장될 것이며 그 활동은 더욱 주목받게 될 것입니다. 이번 전시에 작품을 출품한 졸업생 모두는 재학 4년 동안 새로운 시대 요구에 부응할 수 있는 괄목할만한 성과를 이루어 냈습니다. 졸업생 여러분 앞에는 이제 미술인으로서 자신의 작품을 통해 역동적이고 창조적인 네트워크를 엮어나가는 일이 기다리고 있습니다. 회화과 졸업생 여러분 한명 한명의 미래가 그 속에서 빛나리라 확신하며, 오늘 자리한 졸업생 모두의 건승을 기원합니다.

오늘 이처럼 뜻 깊고 자랑스러운 졸업전시를 위해 최고의 역량을 발휘한 4학년 회화과 학생들에게 다시 한 번 깊은 지지와 박수를 보냅니다. 또한 탁월한 교육 의지와 지성으로 졸업생을 이끌어주신 회화과 교수님들, 학생들이 훌륭히 성장할 수 있도록 언제나 따뜻한 사랑과 지원을 아끼지 않은 학부모님들께 진심어린 감사를 전합니다.

GREETINGS

Congratulations on the 46th graduation exhibition of the department of painting in the College of Fine Art. The department of painting has focused on opening up a new vision of contemporary art through the education of painting; the basis of visual arts.

This year we are celebrating the 66th anniversary of the beginnings of Dongduk Women’s University and the 106th anniversary of its foundation. All members of our university have been continuously making efforts in providing the education for fostering the future women leaders based on our 100 years of academic tradition and history. We go by the vision of guiding our students to reconstruct their academic qualities and moral standards for the innovative future. By constantly practicing such a vision, we are strengthening our competence and fostering intelligent women leaders who can make significant contributions regarding literature and art to the global society as a whole.

So far, with our many years of tradition as the educational cradle for Korean women, we have produced many competent artists and cultured professionals with strong work – ethics. The 46th graduation exhibition of the department of painting will be a part of history for Dongduk Women’s University as well as for the graduates since it will be the starting point for them before they soar up into society. If the 21st century represents the era of culture, the field of arts will expand and attain more attention. All of the graduates who presented their work at the exhibition have achieved remarkable performance that fulfills the future demands throughout four years of university. Dear fellow graduate students, the task of building a dynamic and creative network of art awaits in the future for you, as artists, to carry out. We believe that the future of every graduate student of department of painting will shine within that network and we wish you all for the best.

Once again, I would like to make a round of applause and send support to the graduate students of department of painting for their efforts in the graduation exhibition. Moreover, I would like to send my gratitude towards the professors of department of painting who led students with fully dedicated style of learning, and also the parents who always supported with love.

격려사

누구나 어렸을 때 처음 그렸던 서툰 그림으로 부모님께 기쁨을 준 적이 있을 것입니다. 그렇지만 그 어린아이가 그림을 평생 그릴 것이라고 생각하지 않는 이유는 그 길이 너무나 어렵고 힘든 길이라는 것을 알기 때문입니다.

세상과 타협하지 않고 나만의 길을 고집하기가 쉽지는 않지만 창의적 활동은 고뇌의 반복, 인내, 열정 그리고 최선의 노력을 통해 이루어집니다. 이제 여러분들은 그 고난의 마음앓이를 4년의 다양한 수업으로 무장하고, 그동안 익힌 뛰어난 이론과 실기경험을 바탕으로 46회의 졸업전시회를 통해 세상을 향한 현실의 문을 열고 나가려 합니다.

창작의 산고는 매우 고통스러운 것이지만 그 결과물은 대단히 가치 있는 것입니다. 횟수를 거듭하며 변화하고 발전하는 학생들의 작품들도 그와 같이 힘든 과정을 거쳐 창작되어진 것임을 잘 알기에 그 노고를 더욱 치하해 마지않습니다. 아울러 지금까지 물심양면으로 뒷바라지 해 주신 학부모님들께 특히 감사를 드리며, 그동안 학생들과 혼연일체가 되어 열성껏 지도해 주신 교수님들의 노고에 감사의 말씀을 전합니다.

WORDS OF APPRECIATION

Everyone would have a memory of loading their parents with happiness through a piece of clumsy drawing during their youth. However, the reason why this little kid would never think about drawing in her future is because she knows how difficult that path would be like.

It is not easy to stick to your own path without compromising with the world; however, the creativity only comes from one’s agony, patience, passion and the utmost efforts. Now you are all armed with strong theories and practical experiences through diverse classes to face such hardships; moreover, along with the 46th graduation exhibition, you are about to step forward to the real world.

The birth of creation may involve painful process but the outcome is priceless. Accordingly, I could never praise enough for the constantly improving works of our students, created through tough processes. In addition, we would like to give special thanks to the parents for their tremendous support in every sense and also to the professors who worked together with the students as one and guided them to the better path.

졸업을 축하드리며...

올해도 어김없이 졸업전시를 맞이하게 되었습니다. 해마다의 연례행사이지만 언제나 그 감회는 남다를 수 밖에 없습니다. 우리는 지난 4년 동안 참으로 많은 일들을 겪고 이겨내며 마침내 오늘을 맞이하게 되었습니다. 웃음과 눈물로 점철된 지난 시간은 때로는 좌절하고 또 때로는 환호하며 지내온 소중한 시간들이었습니다. 서로 다른 이들이 모여 우리가 되어 같은 시공을 공유하며 더불어 성장하여 마침내 오늘에 이르게 되었습니다. 졸업생 여러분 개개인이 감내한 지난 4년의 시간에 대해 경의를 표하고 그 성취에 대해 박수를 보냅니다. 더불어 여러분들을 꿈을 지원해 주신 학부형 여러분들과 열성으로 지도해 주신 교수님 여러분들께도 감사의 인사를 드립니다.

이제 여러분들은 부모의 품에서 자라 학교라는 울타리 속에서 성장하여 사회라는 현실과 마주하게 되었습니다. 여러분들이 동덕의 품속에서 보낸 지난 4년의 시간 동안 축적된 역량은 장차 여러분들의 원대한 꿈을 실현하고 역경을 헤쳐 나갈 수 있는 유력한 자산이 되어 줄 것입니다. 끊임없는 도전과 좌절과 실패를 두려워하지 않는 불굴의 의지는 앞으로 여러분들이 마주하게 될 사회생활에서의 중요한 덕목일 것입니다. 지난 4년 동안 우리가 늘 그래왔던 것처럼 우리는 앞으로도 그렇게 치열하게 자신들의 삶을 헤쳐 나갈 것입니다. 이제 여러분들은 유구한 동덕여대 회화과 역사의 한 부분이 되었습니다. 여러분들의 모교 동덕여대는 언제나 여러분들의 정신적 안식처이자 창작의 근원지로서 여러분들과 함께 할 것입니다.

졸업생 여러분들의 앞날에 무궁한 영광과 성취가 있기를 진심으로 기원합니다.

CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL THE GRADUATES…

Without exception, this year has also brought us the pleasure to congratulate on the graduation exhibition. It may be an annual event of the university; however, the feeling towards it changes every time. Today is a special day for all of us after four years of education filled with many different stories. These precious years have been a series of laughter and tears which made us be frustrated at times or shout for joy at other times. Different individuals came together to become as a whole while sharing the same time and space; moreover, we grew up together and now we are here. I would like to express my respect to the patience that all of you endured during the past four years and make a round of applause to such great achievements. In addition, I would like to give thanks to the parents who have put forward amazing supports for the students and also to the professors.

You are now faced with the society after stepping out from the fences called ‘parents’ and ‘university’. I am certain that all the accumulated artistic abilities after four years of education at Dongduk Women’s University, would be the greatest assets to help fulfill the ambitions and overcome hardships. The willingness to challenge oneself and fearless characteristics will become the important virtue in social life. Just like how we always have been in the last four years, we will overcome hardships to reach goals in our lives. You are now a part of Dongduk Women’s University’s history. Our school will always be your spiritual oasis and the source of creativity.

I sincerely wish for the infinite glory and accomplishment for the future of all the graduate students.
